I haven't currently got my own computer and our house doesn't have a great internet connection, so browsing the internet is a little more difficult than it used to be!
Luckily though my cousin has been round with his fancy Mac so I have been able to use that for the past few days (cheers Ben =]).

Photobooth!

More DIY stuffs. This time in the form of photo booth fun!
As I started work last night, I bumped into Kano, a friend and also who runs a live arts night in town called Any Which Way.
We got to talking and he asked if I would like to maybe do some form of interactive photography at the next one (in a month).
I'm not massively confident with my photography at the moment, so taking photo's of people for a blog or something kind of scares me! But then I got to thinking about something I saw a while ago whilst browsing t'interweb.
The idea simply, is to build some form of DIY photobooth in a corner of the room, for people to just use at their will. I like the idea that people can be free to go crazy in there, and because there would be no human taking the photo and some form of curtain to cover you, that people would lose there inhibitions a little and do stuff they wouldn't normally do on camera! Also, booze will be flowing so there could be some interesting results!
My only difficulty now, is finding a way of making this thing. Because it needs to be easy to use, well lit but also covered and also stable enough that people wont just steal the camera!
I would like to use a 35mm camera really, or some kind of instant film if my budget stretched! So that then, once the photo's are developed, I can create some kind of photo booth wall for the next Any Which Way and carry it on!
If you have any ideas it would be very appreciated!

Flickr's a bit shite when it comes down to trying to find decent photo's on there sometimes. The Explore page is wank. HOW many pictures of blackberrys?!
THIS is a great site/blog for finding those harder to find gems. I think the basic idea is that the page loads with a set of pictures from the site. If you click one you like, it'll load up some more from whatever that person favourites. You can sign up and it'll load from your favourites instead to get even more closer to what your looking for/like!
Once you have clicked once. You'll not be able to stop!

DIY!

Ok, so usually I run in the opposite direction when it comes to DIY, although I did put up a picture frame the other day! go me! BUT when it comes to cameras, I cant resist giving it a bash!
This relates to my most recent post featuring Mark Peckmezian. A quick, easy, cheap and fun way of creating your own stereogram images!
All it takes is two disposable cameras. Boots currently have them on buy one get one free I believe so you have no excuse!! As soon as I get paid on the weekend Il be buying and trying this! Im sure the unpredictable results disposable cameras give might create some quite interesting stereogram shots!
If your lazy. There is also the brilliant option of the , HOLGA 3D. God I want it! You should be able to find one easy enough on Ebay.

Laura Pannack

Laura Pannack, a graduate of the Univeristy of Brighton 2005/2008 (somewhere I would like to study) is a freelance photographer in London. Her work has won and been shortlisted for numerous awards since 2008.
I particularly like her project "The Untitled".
The Project is left untitled, and the images only titled with the name of the subject, to enable the person viewing the image to make up their own decisions.
Focusing on the negative stereotypes teenagers are given, Pannack invites the viewer to reflect on the ways in which a book can be all too easily judged by its cover and the damaging effects this can have on such an impressionable age.
I like the conscientious nature in which this project is thought through.

I wish I had such an eye for those in the right place at the right time moments! He really manages some quite comical images which most would walk by without even noticing! Well worth checking out.

Pinhole Pt2

Ok so i just found this. If you can't BUY one of the kits and dont have a matchbox to hand, heres another method you can try. The DIRKON paper pinhole camera. Its a Printable cut out version much like the kits. The instructions look pretty hard though!

Bags Packed!

Ok, so my bags packed and Im ready to go! Where? To castle hill tomorrow! =] Im gonna make the hike up the steep hill to hopefully take some wonderfull pictures of the tower completed in 1899 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria's reign.
Hopefully I will have some nice ones posted on here soon!
